This Tuesday, the Canary Islands added 2,063 new cases of coronavirus, thus registering a significant increase compared to the previous day, when 659 were counted. In addition, in the last few hours, the death of five people between 81 and 91 years of age has been reported. Of the total number of deaths, three were registered in Gran Canaria, one in Tenerife and another in Lanzarote. All had previous pathologies and were in hospital.
As of this Tuesday, a total of 3,227,008 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 7,025 correspond to Monday.
The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 305.02 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 560.35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
By islands, Tenerife adds 887 cases with a total of 6,476 cases that are epidemiologically active; Gran Canaria has 837 more than the previous day and 7,853 active cases. Lanzarote adds 84 new cases with 294 epidemiologically active cases; Fuerteventura has 154 new cases and 1,347 active cases. La Palma adds 75 new positives, bringing the total to 330 active cases. El Hierro adds six new cases, bringing its active cases to 25, and La Gomera adds 20 new positives, bringing its total to 81 active cases.
The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 278,729 with 16,406 active cases, of which 49 are admitted to the ICU and 324 remain hospitalized.
