"Two and a half years ago I processed the rent assistance and, like me, a large percentage of people did. Supposedly, according to what they inform us at the Ministry of Housing of Lanzarote, the process is on the payment table.
We have gone to Las Palmas and they have explained to us that being on the payment table means that you are already accepted and that payment is missing, that now it no longer depends on them, that now it is Lanzarote that must pay. They told us that these papers will be on the payment table for at least six months.
When I watch television and see the propaganda of Canarian housing and aid, it makes me indignant that they lie to me. I imagine that if we ask for help it is because one really needs it. If they study one's case, which takes them at least a year and a half, it is because they have studied it very well.
Most of us are not even living in the same place, looking for a rent reduction. Of course, when one goes to ask the Ministry, in Lanzarote, they still make fun of you and tell you to keep waiting another year for the help to arrive".
