A reader has contacted La Voz de Lanzarote to ask for help in the search for Garfield, a Persian cat that was lost last Sunday in Costa Teguise.

"It's very strange, because he never leaves home, he only went up to the wall and we believe that someone picked him up and took him away", says the animal's owner, who assures that he is a "very furry, tame and beautiful" cat. "We are heartbroken," she adds.

"My 4-year-old daughter wakes up in the middle of the night crying asking if Garfield has arrived yet," adds the animal's owner, who hopes that the cat will soon be able to return home.

The animal has a microchip and also has a collar. The family offers a reward to whoever finds him, and has provided the telephone numbers 675 80 10 84 and 675 80 10 83 in case someone has any information about the animal.
