The Canary Islands Latin Sail Championship held on October 31, November 1 and 2 in the waters of the coastal town of Arinaga, in Gran Canaria, leaves immense joy for the Latin sail family of the municipality of Yaiza and Lanzarote; nothing less than the regional title won by Tritón Deportes Yaiza, a boat from Playa Blanca, skippered by Kevin Cabrera, who has not stopped raising trophies since its launch on April 1, 2021, then no one could imagine that this 5-meter-long newly built boat, owned by Víctor García, could achieve so many successes in such a short time at sea.

"For the Latin sail family of Playa Blanca and for the entire municipality of Yaiza, it is a great pride that Tritón Deportes Yaiza is crowned champion of the Canary Islands after the six regattas held in Arinaga, where they demonstrated competitive level and temperance to overcome adversities and rivals," says the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda.

For his part, the Councilor for Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, values the title as "a victory for Tritón, its owner, its skipper and each of its crew members, but it is also a victory for Yaiza and Lanzarote sports. From Yaiza we will continue to promote Latin sailing with support for clubs and consolidated initiatives such as the Copa del Sur, where Tritón debuted in 2021, precisely in the first edition of the Copa." In addition to Tritón, the southern boats Playa Blanca, Bernasan and Playa Dorada competed in Arinaga.

The owner Víctor García highlights that "the triumph is the result of the work of the whole year and of all the sailors who have been with us in different regattas and competitions. We are a team and we should all feel like champions. It is also grateful for the support of the City Council through Deportes Yaiza and the sponsors Clínica Veterinaria Bari and Restaurante Brisa Marina." The sailors of Tritón are: Kevin Cabrera, Víctor García, Francisco Gutiérrez, Dámason Guzmán, Rainiero Díaz, Atteneri García, Cristian Sánchez and Alberto Morales.
