SPL Arrecife Conejeros achieved a new victory this Sunday at the IES Las Salinas Pavilion in Arrecife in the visit of C.B. CAF Fuerteventura (112-67), in a match corresponding to the ninth day of the second phase, in the elite group of the Interinsular League LIIC.
Short on players, the Majoreros suffered from the first quarter (25-16). Aware of the numerical advantage, the "Duck Nation" applied an abrasive tactic to the match, waiting for fatigue to take its toll on the Fuerteventura squad.
The oranges scored a total of thirteen three-pointers during the match, compared to six by the Majoreros. CAF started better, with an unexpected 0-9 partial score, but the locals knew what they had to do. Following the established script, the quarters passed. Drawing on pride, CAF held its own until the second quarter (19-17), but the physical condition was what it was. After the break, the oranges overwhelmed the visitors, reaching the final quarter with enough advantage not to fear a defeat. The final quarter did not have much more history, one dominant team and the other already out of gas.
Reginaldo Nsue became the top scorer of the match and his team with nineteen points. In the Majorera squad, Jorge Picallo stood out with fifteen points.
With this result, SPL Arrecife Conejeros takes the lead with fifteen points, followed by CB Maramajo with identical figures, Magec Tías and AD Los Toscones as third and fourth in the table, closing the table Costa Teguise and CAF Fuerteventura.
