The goal of playing for the third consecutive season in the promotion phase to the Second Division "B" is becoming complicated for UD Lanzarote. The rojillos were defeated 2-1 against CD Marino, a direct rival in the fight for the top four positions in the standings of the Canarian group of the Third Division. UD Lanzarote's reaction came in the final stretch of the match, a phase in which Miñano narrowed the gap on the scoreboard and sent a free kick to the crossbar.

The start of the match was delayed by nearly two hours, due to a fault in the plane that was to move the UD Lanzarote expedition to the island of Tenerife. The departure of the plane was delayed by three hours, so the start of the match had to be delayed by one hour and 40 minutes.

The first part of the match was dominated by CD Marino, a team that was better on the field. The Tenerife team took just ten minutes to create the first goal opportunity, when Adán stood inside the area and his crossed shot went wide of the three posts of the goal defended by Agoney.

Adán did not forgive five minutes later, scoring the goal that put CD Marino ahead on the scoreboard. The play was started by Ahmed making an opening to the wing on Fran Alonso and the precise center of this was culminated by Adán with a low shot that was lodged in the back of the net.

After the goal conceded, UD Lanzarote tried to react and most of the attacking actions were in set pieces. The corner kicks did not create danger on the goal defended by Marko Cicovic. Marino continued to be the best team on the field and had chances to increase the differences. Adán could have scored the second goal before the break, but his shot went too wide.

UD Lanzarote took a step forward in the second half in search of the goal that would give them the tie. The rojillos were quick to create the first goal opportunities. In the 47th minute, Quintero headed a good cross and the ball went close to one of the posts of the goal. Minutes later, Quintero was in charge of executing a free kick from the front of the area and the shot went wide near the squad of the goal defended by Marko Cicovic.

Marino did not give up the attack in this second half and had chances to increase the differences on the scoreboard. Adán was in charge of executing a free kick that Agoney avoided. And in the 72nd minute, Fran Alonso tried it with a shot that went close to one of the posts of the goal.

The locals would increase the differences in the 76th minute of the match. Brad, a player who had a great performance in this second half, stole a ball, went inside and from the edge of the area put the ball out of reach of Agoney's stretch. It was 2-0 and the CD Marino players were already savoring the possibility of adding an important victory.

UD Lanzarote reacted in the final minutes of the match. With five minutes left for the conclusion of the match, Quintero put a ball back for the arrival of Miñano and he scored the 2-1. Miñano makes his debut as a scorer for UD Lanzarote, playing this Sunday his third official match with the rojilla shirt.

The match got messy in the final minutes of the match. Fran Delgado committed a foul in the vicinity of the area, being sent off with a straight red card as the referee interpreted that he was the last defender. The protests cost the coach of CD Marino, Toni Dumpiérrez, the expulsion. Miñano was in charge of executing the foul, and the shot crashed into the crossbar of the goal.

UD Lanzarote turned to the goal of CD Marino in the minutes of the extension in search of the equalizer. An added time in which the local Fran Alonso was expelled, when he was on the bench, and Javi Navarro in the ranks of UD Lanzarote. The result would not move and with the score of 2-1 the conclusion of the match was reached.

The defeat leaves UD Lanzarote in seventh place in the standings, being six points behind the fourth classified in the category. The rojillos will now play two consecutive matches as local, facing Arucas CF next Sunday and in fifteen days UD Las Palmas Atlético, a team that has gone 20 games without knowing defeat and that occupies the lead in a comfortable way.
