J. Lasso C.- The general director of Sports, José Manuel Betancort, presented yesterday in the assembly hall of the Lanzarote Sports City the "III Conference on Sports Policies" that will be held today at the Hotel Princesa Yaiza in Playa Blanca. He was accompanied by the councilor of the Cabildo, Francisca Toleso, and the councilor of Sports of Yaiza, Ängel Dominguez.
The Conference organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, aims to meet the demand of all organizations with responsibility in sports matters in the autonomous community, to publicize the resources of the General Directorate of Sports that are at the service of Canarian sports at all levels, to bring together all public sports institutions in the Canary Islands and to publicize all those aspects that relate us, and finally, to improve the coordination of actions in all procedures and steps that are necessary and fundamental for the proper development of competences in sports matters.
The day begins at ten this morning, the first working block will be on the resources of the Government of the Canary Islands for sports entities. In a second session, the programs of the General Directorate of Sports will be presented, and later work will be done on sports legislation and organization.
After lunch, the fourth working block will continue, which will deal with the generation of income in sport, and finally the income and expenditure budgets of public administrations.
The day will end at 6:30 p.m. with a round table that will address "The economic management of sport in public administrations". At the end, a dinner will be offered to the participants.
