Next September 4 was the date chosen by UD Lanzarote for the celebration of the institutional event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the club's founding. An event that was to take place at the Marina Lanzarote facilities, in Arrecife, and that would serve to kick off an exciting season. Finally, the club has been forced to cancel it due to the latest measures adopted by the Government of the Canary Islands.
For weeks, the club's directors had been working on the event next Friday, trying to comply with all the required protocols and security measures, being in constant contact with the health authorities. For this reason, a prior identification of all those interested in attending had been requested in order to be able to place them in the designated seats.
The Governing Council and the Citizen Security Meeting held on Thursday in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, adopted a series of measures to try to stop the high number of infections that are being recorded in the archipelago. Among the measures adopted is the cancellation of all events with a number greater than 10 people, an act among which is the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the rojillo club.
UD Lanzarote plans to announce through its communication channels all those novelties that were to be presented on September 4, such as the new campaign of subscribers and members, the importance of collaborating companies or the new equipment that the club will wear in the year of its 50th anniversary.
