On Saturday night, the president of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Julio Romero Ortega, and the director of Calero Marinas, José Juan Calero Prats, accompanied by the vice president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Jacobo Medina, the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the sports councilor of the Cabildo, Juan Francisco Monzón. Together with military authorities, representatives of nautical clubs, RFCV, and Turismo Lanzarote, they were in charge of presenting the awards of the XII edition of the César Manrique Trophy – RCNA – Calero Marinas, which was held from last Thursday to Saturday.
The event opened with the intervention of the those responsible for the organization of the RCNA and Calero Marinas. Both Romero Ortega and Calero Prats, were pleased with this third consecutive edition after the break suffered by the event after its ninth edition. Thanking the participation of all the participating crews.
The RCNA recognized Miguel Ángel Morales and Alejandro Martín, European champions and world runners-up in 420. Who, together with Mariano Stinga, European runner-up in Snipe youth, received a souvenir of their international achievements from the directors of the RCNA, Mercedes López Soca, Margaret Santana and Carlos Cañibano.
The Fademilanz Association, presented President Julio Romero with a plaque of gratitude to the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife for its collaboration in the “International Festival of the Original Peoples of the World”, for the collaboration received.
After the red lantern was presented to Matador by Cristóbal Amador (RCNT), the sports councilor of the Cabildo, Juan Francisco Monzón, spoke, who once again, showed his willingness to collaborate with nautical sports from the Councilorship he chairs.
The Corinthian trophies were then awarded to the winners in ORC 4-5 offshore 1 by Francisco Curbelo (RCNA) and in ORC 1-3 to Poseidón by José Andrés Ramírez (CR4 Vientos).
The trophy for the best classified female crew went to Muyay by Aureliano Negrín (RCNA), which was collected by its four female crew members.
In the ORC 4-5 class, the winner was awarded to Butxaca by Joaquín Blanco (RCNGC) was presented by the president of the RCNA together with the vice president of the Cabildo, Jacobo Medina. The second was received by Maeña 9 by Andrés Monje (RCNT) and the third by Altamar 1 by Francisco Curbelo (RCNA).
In his speech, the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, also made clear his support for this type of event from the Arrecife City Council. Presenting together with Julio Romero the trophy for the winner of the ORC 1 to 3 class, which Lucio Pérez Aranaz collected for the Macaco boat (RCNT). Second Muyay by Aureliano Negrín (RCNA) and third Lanzarote Sailing Paradise, also from the organizing Club.
The event ended with the intervention of the vice president of the council, Jacobo Medina, who, like the sports councilor, promised to be with nautical sports, intensifying Lanzarote's relationship with the sea.
Finally, Julio Romero made the transfer of the Canary Islands Cruise Circuit Trophy, a work by the Lanzarote sculptor Francisco Curbelo, to the commodore of the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, Alejandro Martín, who will be the organizer of the next event of the Circuit on September 22, 23 and 24 with the Princess of Asturias Trophy.
The Canary Islands circuit ends from October 20 to 22 with the Infantas de España Trophy, which is organized by the Real Club Náutico de Tenerife. This Circuit will include every five years the Lustral Regatta of La Palma with departure from Santa Cruz de Tenerife and arrival in Santa Cruz de La Palma.
The XII César Manrique Trophy – RCNA – Calero Marinas, was organized by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife and Calero Marinas, the collaboration of the Arrecife City Council from the Department of Sports and Tourism, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Turismo Lanzarote, Department of Sports of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, European Sports Destination, Spanish Association of Nautical Clubs, Canary Association of Nautical Clubs and the collaboration of Naviera Armas & Trasmediterránea, CICAR, Arrecife Gran Hotel, Renault – Juan Toledo SL, Kalise and Tirma.
