The 5-Meter Dinghy Island League Kicks Off with the Opening Trophy

This Sunday, the Insular Center of Nautical Sports will be the stage for the start of the 5-meter dinghy competition. The inaugural day, known as the Opening Trophy, will feature the participation of 21 boats, marking the beginning of the second part of the season for the Canarian Latin sailing dinghies of the island of Lanzarote.

The competition will begin at 11:00 in the morning, when the dinghies will set sail to face each other in a regatta that promises to be intense and hard-fought. The expected weather conditions indicate a north-northeast wind of 15 knots, with possible gusts of up to 22 knots, which will add an extra challenge for the skippers and sailors.

The Insular League of 5-Meter Dinghies consists of a total of eleven days, offering multiple opportunities for the boats to demonstrate their competitiveness throughout the season. The League will conclude on October 19, when the insular champion will be crowned and the teams that achieve qualification for the Canary Islands Latin Sailing Dinghy Championship will be known.
