On Friday afternoon, the 'Carrera Chinija de Famara Total' was held with the participation of 420 boys and girls, from four to fifteen years old, and which was once again a great success as a great format that is capable of bringing the whole family together in an excellent recreational-sports environment with which to enjoy having the youngest athletes as protagonists.
The starting gun went off at 5:00 p.m. from the Caleta de Famara dock area, but special moments were already being experienced hours before with the collection of bib numbers for a free event that was very well received. An afternoon full of emotions in which smiles and hugs stood out in one of the most special events of the 'VIII Famara Total'. Promoting the habit of physical activity and sport from a young age offers great advantages for the rest of their lives.
Thus, the youngest children between the ages of four and six were the first to start on a 100-meter circuit. From seven to nine years old, you could see the enthusiasm that the young runners put in the 200-meter distance. Meanwhile, from ten to twelve years old, with 500 meters to go, and the participants from thirteen to fifteen years old who completed a kilometer of circuit, joined the sports party leaving great moments. After crossing the finish line, all participants received their medal and a magnificent refreshment to regain strength to finish savoring the day with their family.
This closed the last prelude to the great day of the eighth edition of the 'Famara Total' with its modalities of 7.5, 15, 25 and 50 kilometers and hiking that will be during the morning of this Sunday, to put the finishing touch to three sports days that fulfill a new sporting and social success.
