Physical work and tactical session are the aspects that were worked on on Tuesday at the concentration of the Spanish Handball Team in Lanzarote. The national team completed its second day of training and trained again on the playing field of the Arrecife Sports Palace. Once the work session was over, they moved to the Princesa Yaiza Hotel in Playa Blanca, where they will stay until next Monday.
Tuesday's training was marked by two well-differentiated parts. First, physical work under the supervision of Francisco Seiru-lo, and later a tactical session led by the national coach, Valero Rivera.
Emphasis has been placed again on defensive work, putting into practice the concepts worked on last week in the Barcelona concentration. The players have put into practice a very closed 6:0 defense, with Viran Morros and Guardiola in the center and the laterals alternating. Later, Valero Rivero has worked on a very intense 5:1, in which the advanced Roberto or Ugalde have had extra work with great efforts in the assists.
The training has been dynamic and has imprinted a strong rhythm to the work developed on the court. On Wednesday, work will be done again on the defensive aspect, since for the coach a solid defense is the key to achieving the objectives set in the European Championship in Serbia.
Presentation of the XXXVII International Tournament of Spain.
The day on Wednesday will begin with the official presentation of the thirty-seventh edition of the International Tournament of Spain "Domingo Bárcenas Memorial". The players of the Spanish Handball Team will be received in the Plenary Hall of the Cabildo of Lanzarote.
An event that will be attended by the Minister of Sports of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Migdalia Machín, the accidental president of the Cabildo, Marci Acuña, and the president of the Canary Islands Handball Federation, Blas Parrilla.
The Domingo Bárcenas Memorial will be held on January 6, 7 and 8 at the Arrecife Sports Palace, and will be attended by Spain, Argentina and Tunisia. Spectators will be able to attend the three matches that will take place throughout the weekend free of charge.
Visit to the Handball Sports Schools
The components of the different Handball Sports Schools will concentrate on Wednesday morning at the Lanzarote Sports City. Throughout the morning, different activities will be carried out, with the dispute of matches between the different clubs that attend the concentration programmed by the Insular Federation of Lanzarote Handball.
At the conclusion of the training that will take place in the Arrecife Sports Palace, the players of the Spanish Handball Team will visit the members of the Sports Schools. An act that will serve so that the future stars of handball conejero can get to know their idols closely.
The players will sign autographs, share experiences with the little ones and take pictures with the members of the Handball Sports Schools.
