Magec Tías Against Gender Violence finished the year 2024 facing DPES CB Ciudad de Móstoles. The Lanzarote team, which arrived with a streak of four consecutive defeats, could not reverse its situation and fell defeated by 79 to 53 against the Madrid team.
The match began with a solid Magec Tías, both in defense and attack, achieving a balance in the game that allowed them to compete head-to-head with the rival. At halftime, the red and blacks left with a six-point advantage, thanks in large part to the outstanding performance of Iranzu Drake, who scored 12 points and captured 5 rebounds in the first half.
However, in the second half, the Lanzarote team disappeared from the field. DPES CB Ciudad de Móstoles tightened in defense and was much more successful in attack, scoring 52 points compared to Magec Tías' 19 points in that half, with only 7 points in the last quarter. The absence of rotations due to the numerous casualties, including Margarida Junqueira and Verónica Matoso, weighed on the team's work.
Despite the effort, the red and blacks return to the island with a serious correction, showing the worst face of the entire season, although without stopping trying to get into the game until the end.
Magec Tías Against Gender Violence finishes 2024 in eleventh position in the Liga Femenina 2 standings, with a record of 3 wins and 8 losses. The island team will now begin their vacation, returning to work on January 3 to prepare for the first game of 2025, which will be at home, on January 11, against Unilever Viladecans Dishelec65 at the Tías Municipal Pavilion.
