Magec Tías Against Gender Violence defeated Grupo Barna by 62-66 in a match that was competitive until the last quarter. The need was pressing both teams in search of a victory that would allow them to move away from the bottom of the standings and look optimistically at this second round.
The Lanzarote team started the match better than Grup Barna, with a partial score of 0-5 in the first two minutes of the match, which allowed them to gain confidence on a complicated court and with a very lively crowd. Despite this, Jesús García's team knew how to stay in their place to end up winning the first partial by 11 points, 11 to 22.
The advantage taken was diluted as the minutes of the second quarter passed, to the point that in 5 minutes the Catalan players had achieved a tie in the match, scoring three consecutive three-pointers later and putting land in between, ending the first half with the score of 35 to 31.
Many things had to be fixed at halftime and remove the stigma of the third partial, where the matches were escaping Magec Tías. Despite the fact that Grup Barna did not slow down at the beginning of the third quarter and made a partial score of 9-4 in the first four minutes, the Lanzarote team went from less to more and began to score, managing to turn the score around before the third quarter ended, with a result of 47 to 50.
In the last quarter, two very serious teams were shown, aware of what was at stake. The Barcelona team was again very strong at the beginning and turned the score around again in just 4 minutes, even taking the lead on the scoreboard, but the Lanzarote team was not going to allow it. The attack was reinforced and the defense was intensified, enough for the Tías players to defeat their rival and achieve victory by 62 to 66. Magec Tías Against Gender Violence, with 5 victories in its locker, climbs to ninth position in the standings and will begin this Monday to prepare for the match against Ponce Ginemédica Valladolid, which will be on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in the Tías Municipal Pavilion.
