The Three Islands prepare for the quadrathlon on May 31st

On May 31st, Las Tres Islas, Quadrathlon 2008, will take place, consisting of a two-kilometer swimming test, a two-kilometer uphill race, 70 kilometers by bicycle and 10 kilometers of unpowered navigation between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.

The test will have, as in previous years, numerous participation, and will consist of a swimming test first thing in the morning from the port of Caleta de Sebo (La Graciosa) to the beach of Risco de Famara, crossing the entire Río. The second phase will consist of ascending the aforementioned Risco until reaching 650 meters of altitude and traveling another two kilometers.

The test will then continue at the top of the massif, about two kilometers from the Mirador del Río, where the participants will take the bicycle and travel 72 kilometers passing through Guinate, Máguez, Haría, Teguise, Monumento al Campesino, La Geria, La Asomada, Yaiza and Playa Blanca.

From the southern town, the approximately 10 kilometers that connect Lanzarote and Fuerteventura will be covered by any means of unpowered navigation (kitesurfing, catamaran, windsurfing, kayak, etc.).
