CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife needed to recover sensations after the two defeats suffered, and in good part the players of the San José Obrero women's team played a serious match on the court of Vino Doña Berenguela Balonmano Bolaños. The Lanzarote team conquered a valuable point in one of the most complicated courts of the category and the tie allows them to maintain a four-point advantage over the fifth-placed team in the Women's Gold Honor Division.
The match began with a CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife that controlled the pace of the game, and being the team that enjoyed the first rents in its favor in these first minutes. A quick counterattack culminated by Itziar Martínez put Balonmano Bolaños ahead for the first time on the scoreboard (4-3).
Two goals from the left wing by Eva Márquez raised the locals' lead to three goals, with David Betancort having to call a time-out when only 9 minutes had been played (7-4). After the indications from the bench, the match entered a phase in which the defenses prevailed over the attacks, with both teams going more than five minutes without scoring.
Goals from Mizuki Hosoe, Esther de Miguel and Jazmin Mendoza, after stealing a ball in defense and shooting at an empty goal, put the equalizer on the scoreboard of Macarena Aguilar (9-9). With five minutes left for the break, Miriam Páez scored a seven-meter shot to put her team ahead and with the score tied at 10 goals, the first 30 minutes of the match came to an end.
The second half began with a CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife that dominated the game, reaching a lead of two goals after Miriam Páez transformed a seven-meter shot (15-17). Juan Miguel Fernández requested a time-out, and Vino Doña Berenguela Balonmano Bolaños began to play with a 5:1 defense.
After the halfway point of the second half, Esther Martín-Buro tied the score and immediately afterwards, Alba Sobrino scored to put Vino Doña Berenguela Balonmano Bolaños ahead (19-18). David Betancort had to request a time-out, seeing how his team again had problems in attack.
The forces were equalized on the court in the final minutes and the match could have gone to either of the two teams. Key was the intervention of Irene Sánchez under the sticks, stopping a seven-meter shot by Lucía Sobrino. CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife had the last attack to win the match, but Mizuki Hosoe lost the ball. And in the counterattack, Esther Martín-Buro committed steps when beating Irene Sánchez.
