Last weekend, Club Deportivo Magec Tías organized a social basketball event for the youngest players on the island, which was also attended by clubs from Fuerteventura. An annual meeting in which the minibasket category teams participate and with which it is intended that young players enjoy playing basketball.
The event began on the courts of the Alcalde Rafael Cedrés School in Tías, although it soon had to be moved to the Tías Municipal Pavilion due to the rain that fell last Saturday in Lanzarote. With this minibasket festival, in addition to playing basketball, the aim was to promote coexistence and integration of all boys and girls. In addition to basketball, the little ones enjoyed other extra activities such as bouncy castles.
It is not only an activity for the little ones. It is also a social action for parents to meet and exchange opinions, as well as for coaches to spend time together with other benchmates and exchange ideas.
The Mini Lanzarote - Fuerteventura Basketball Festival was attended by CB Amuley, CB Los Toscones, Ariagona Lanzarote, CB Conejero, Tinyala, Costa Teguise, Tizziri Tinajo, CAF Fuerteventura, Lanzabasket, Grubati, Tite and, as host, CD Magec Tías.
The event, despite the rain, was quite fruitful for all the participants, who even had a healthy diet based on fresh fruit provided by the Lidl supermarket chain. A company that has been collaborating with CD Magec Tías since last season, spreading healthy eating habits among grassroots athletes.
