CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen has successfully started its journey in the 2022-2023 season, winning with some comfort in the first match of Group A of the Women's Silver Honor Division at SAR Rodavigo's home (28-43).
The Tiñoseras' match in the Municipal Pavilion of Redondela, La Bombonera, has been very complete from the beginning, taking the initiative on the scoreboard from the beginning to the end of the match.
Although the final result gives the sensation of a victory with solvency (fifteen goals difference), the Galician players were able to hold on in the match with minimal differences until mid-way through the first half (11-12, min. 20). From there, Juanmi Pérez's team stepped on the accelerator and reached halftime with a five-goal advantage (14-19), an advantage that gradually increased as the second half waned.
Noelia Solla with seven goals has been the top scorer for SAR Rodavigo while the Paraguayan international, Fernanda Luján, scored eight goals for the aurinegras, well accompanied in the Tiñosera offensive facet by Lucía Olivier with six goals and Delyne Leiva with another five goals.
For the Tiñosero coach, Juanmi Pérez, "if last week we left with good feelings from the match, this week we continue with good feelings." "We have had a very good match, serious from the start and we withstood the initial pull of the home team. After halftime we began to distance ourselves on the scoreboard, perhaps due to the depth of the bench and our speed, continuous counterattacks and the team looked very superior. I am happy with the work of the whole group and I am leaving with very good feelings about the match we have played in Galicia," he said.
With this result achieved in Galicia, the Tiñosero team is placed in the first position of the table due to the goal difference, accompanied by the rest of the teams that have premiered in the league with victory, Porriño, Valladolid, Siero, Meaño, Cañiza and Gijón. In the second league match, Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen receives next Saturday, September 24, at 6:30 p.m., in the Ciudad Deportiva de Lanzarote, Gijón, a team that has won very tightly in its local premiere against Rocasa Gran Canaria (22-21).
