The match between Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero and BM Torrelavega, held on Saturday afternoon, was full of alternatives in both the game and the result. The match concluded with a 27-27 draw, which allows both teams to remain in the middle of the standings with a significant advantage over the relegation zone. In the last minute, victory could have gone either way, but neither team capitalized on their opportunities.
The first minutes were dominated by BM Torrelavega, with the Cantabrian team taking the early lead. Ca´Mario Lanzarote showed their mettle and never gave up. A 5-0 run allowed the local team to take the lead again. Javi García tied the game, and Nico López scored the goal that made it 23-22.
Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero was without Uros Milutinovic in the final minutes. The player was injured in one of his knees and had to be taken to a medical center for tests. Initially, a bone fracture is ruled out, but he may have a ligament injury in his knee, so an MRI will be necessary.
With four minutes left in the match, Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero had a two-goal lead (27-25). Two goals from José Carlos Hernández tied the score again. BM Torrelavega had the penultimate attack of the match, but Dzimitry Patotski saved the shot. And Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero had the last attack, but they failed to convert the shot.
The match ended with a 27-27 draw, with each team earning a fair point to remain in the middle of the standings in the Men's Silver Division of Handball. The competition will resume in mid-January, with Ca´Mario Lanzarote visiting the court of Zumosol ARS Palma del Río.
