On the night of October 2, an amateur boxing event was scheduled to take place at the wrestling arena of the Lanzarote Sports City, but the event has had to be postponed. The Department of Sports of the Arrecife City Council, headed by Jacobo Lemes, and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, organizers of the event, "regret having to postpone the boxing event next Friday and are working to find the best date for the fans of the island's capital to enjoy amateur boxing".
Jacobo Lemes, Councilor for Sports of the Arrecife City Council, explains that they are "working on finding a new date for the celebration of the amateur boxing event" and at the same time apologizes "to all those people who may have been affected by the cancellation of the event". "Boxing is a sport that has many fans on the island, as well as great boxers and they all deserve to have a great show," adds Jacomo Lemes.
The amateur boxing event next Friday was going to feature the participation of boxers from the Tony Cruz Club of Gran Canaria, Noi Thai Club of Fuerteventura and Team Formento of Gran Canaria, completing the show with the presence of five boxers from the Palenke School Club, several of them being on the verge of making the leap to professional.
