The Civil Guard of Costa Teguise arrested four young residents of Arrecife, after being caught stealing in the tourist complex "Playa Bastián" and on the Costa Teguise promenade.
The detainees, J.R.B., 18 years old, Y.P.R., 19 years old, and two minors, 16 years old, traveled from Arrecife in a car to Genarios Street in Costa Teguise, where they committed the criminal acts.
The young people divided into two groups, one entered an apartment after forcing the door and window, although they did not find any valuables. The other group stole a backpack from a family of British tourists who were walking along the promenade, seizing various personal effects valued at 1,200 euros.
A maintenance employee of the hotel complex witnessed these events, chasing two of the young people and managing to intercept them, while the Civil Guard managed to arrest the remaining two.
The detained adults were placed at the disposal of the Arrecife Duty Court, while the minors were placed at the disposal of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
