The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, signed last Friday the 72,000 euro contract by which the southern City Council has commissioned the improvement works of the children's park adjacent to the Marcastell urbanization in the tourist town of Playa Blanca. The awarded company will modernize the existing games and install synthetic cushioning pavement to promote the safety of users, among other actions planned in the specifications of this new public tender that, according to the City Council, confirms Yaiza as the municipality "most investor" of Lanzarote.
Óscar Noda has confirmed on the other hand that “the Plaza de Los Remedios park is almost finished". "We hope to deliver it soon to the service and citizen enjoyment, and we have other children's play areas contracted and about to be awarded”, said the mayor, referring to the municipal drafting projects of the Faro Pechiguera park, in Playa Blanca, with works and supplies also contracted to start works, and the repair and implementation of the central children's park of Avenida Papagayo in the tourist town, known as the boat park, whose bidding file is already in the evaluation phase.
Regarding the Mascastell children's park, the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Rubén Arca, explains that in addition to the modernization of games and installation of safety pavement, it will proceed to carry out "accessibility works, renew litter bins, place benches and shade areas and fence the play area”. The park also borders the new link road that connects Papagayo and Salida a Femés avenues, equipped with wide sidewalks and a bike lane to facilitate the mobility of pedestrians and cyclists.
"Within the objectives of the municipal park renovation plan, it is a priority to guarantee the inclusion of all sectors of the population in the use and enjoyment of the municipality's resources, in this case, that of children's parks, understanding as a fundamental pillar when designing it the right of all children to play”, concludes the mayor, Óscar Noda.
