The Yaiza City Council does not want any more delays in the transfer of the 2,943 square meter plot adjacent to the Playa Blanca health center so that the Government of the Canary Islands can undertake its expansion, and understands that the regional Executive does not either, so once the general interest to improve existing health services has been justified and the file has been processed, it proposed to the Autonomous Community to sign not only the transfer of said land, but also to transfer the ownership of the property where the current center operates, which is still in the name of the municipality.
“The objective is to resolve problems from legality and consensus, so our legal services appealed to the tools that the legislation gives us in terms of streamlining and modernizing the management of the assets of local corporations and we proposed to the Canary Islands the signing of the immediate transfer of everything to settle this matter, an extreme that I communicated to President Fernando Clavijo. Of course, the technicians and lawyers of the Government are aware of the entire file,” specifies the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda.
Yaiza intends to formalize the transfer in a public deed or administrative document as soon as possible, which will be registered in the Land Registry when appropriate. “In the Canary Islands Budgets there is only a item of 100,000 euros destined for drafting the expansion project of the health center, a figure that is insufficient and that clearly needs to be corrected, because we also miss the investment forecast to execute the works,” adds the mayor.
The population growth demands, at a minimum, enabling a specific area for emergencies, improving all services and incorporating others such as rehabilitation.
