The Tías City Council presented this Thursday 11 new vehicles that are incorporated into the service of the Local Police, in addition to the van destined for Civil Protection and the electric forklift for the Roads and Works department, which has meant a total investment of 395,828.28 euros.
The presentation was carried out in the Town Hall Square with the presence of the mayor, José Juan Cruz, the Councilor for Police, Mame Fernández, the head of the Local Police, Antonio Rodríguez, and representatives of the contracting companies: Canarialemana SL, Mas Motor Canaria SL, Organización de Vehículos Cabrera Medina SL and Elías Jadraque SA.
These new acquisitions involve, in the case of the Local Police, the replacement of the old cars with the new vehicles presented. All vehicles are intended to optimize the work carried out by the Local Police, Civil Protection and the Urban Planning and Roads and Works departments of the municipal institution.
Cars for the transfer of detainees
The City Council has highlighted the acquisition of two Seat Ateca cars prepared for the transfer of detainees with the so-called "detainee transport kit" providing "maximum security and efficiency when carrying out transfers."

The kit for the transport of detainees consists of a seat, floor, belts with external support and locking, screen, rear screen and side panels, which facilitates the isolation of the rear part for this use, as well as comprehensive cleaning using pressure water systems.
Vehicles for traffic controls and interventions in sandy terrain
The Consistory highlights the conditioning of the interior space of a new Ford Kuba vehicle, which has a removable tray in the trunk with an electrical system and plug socket to connect computers and the necessary equipment to carry out traffic controls or similar interventions.
Another novelty is the purchase of a Ford Ranger vehicle for the service of the Local Police and the Urban Planning department in necessary cases. This large vehicle has a hitch or tow ball and a winch system (electric winch), necessary for interventions in sandy or coastal terrain.
The total number of vehicles presented is one Ford Ranger vehicle, two Ford Kuga vehicles, four Seat Ateca, four motorcycles, a Ford van for Civil Protection and an electric forklift.
"Our Police now have better equipment"
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, declared that "with this incorporation of 11 vehicles to the Local Police, a van to Civil Protection and the forklift to Roads and Works, the improvement of the services of the City Council is made possible." "Our intention is to continue working to offer the best to the citizens," he said.
"The acquisition of these police vehicles allows us to replace and remove the old ones. Our Police now have better equipment and this acquisition is added to the recent renovation of the police facilities and the provision of individual lockers for each agent," said the Police Councilor, Mame Fernñandez.
