The plenary hall of the Tías Town Hall hosted this Tuesday the presentation of the "Intervention and guidance project for people in situations of social exclusion" that the Adsis Foundation is developing in the municipality. The event was attended by the mayor, José Juan Cruz, the Councilor for Social Services, Nicolás Saavedra, and the director of the Adsis Foundation in the Canary Islands, Esther Gálvez.
Ainoha Rodríguez and Azahara Falcón, social workers, explained that a service of "reception, guidance, accompaniment, training and inclusion" is being offered to people in situations of social exclusion or vulnerability, especially aimed at those more fragile groups such as people evicted or at risk of eviction and homeless people, among others.
The speakers stressed the "great relevance" of the actions that are being carried out to respond to the needs of these people and family units, whose numbers are increasing.
In 2020, 61 cases of social intervention were attended to in the municipality of Tías, of which 57 corresponded to eviction procedures and four to cases of uprooting. Each of the cases refers to different cohabitation units, some with minors in their care.

In 2021, 65 cases have already been intervened, of which 56 were in the process of eviction and nine in a situation of uprooting. Of the total number of cases attended to in 2021, 28 cases have been closed, so there are 37 cases in follow-up and intervention, mostly corresponding to eviction procedures (28) and the rest to situations of uprooting (9).
The project is understood as "a set of actions and activities organized in a formal way and responding to the social needs detected, bearing in mind as the main objective "the prevention of social exclusion processes, the promotion of inclusion processes, social participation and the empowerment of the person".
