The Tías City Council demands that the government group of the Cabildo de Lanzarote incorporate into the 2025 budgets the projects with licenses that the municipal council has prepared and pending financing in terms of water. These projects total an investment of 15.9 million euros.

The Tías projects, with approval license, are the renovation and expansion of the water supply network of Conil for an amount of 1,044,120.86 euros, the renovation and expansion of the water supply network of La Asomada, budgeted at 1,957,267 euros, the construction project for the development of the sanitation network of La Candelaria, with 5,112,001.54 euros, and the project of the sanitation networks of the towns of La Asomada, Mácher and Los Topes, budgeted at 7,815,128.82 euros.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for the Environment, Carmen Gloria Rodríguez, confirm that "the situation in these towns is an emergency and recall that the citizen guarantee of access to water is not a luxury, but a right."

"Sustainable water management is essential for our municipality. The Tías City Council has worked hard on the preparation of projects that have the proper license, but cannot move forward due to the lack of financial resources that we demand from the Cabildo de Lanzarote," says Rodríguez.

"We ask the government group of the Cabildo de Lanzarote not to deny us again the financing in terms of water and to prioritize these projects of the municipality of Tías in its budgetary planning of 2025, thus ensuring a more resilient and efficient future in the water management of Tías," he adds.
