The Tías City Council approved the project to renovate the final section of Avenida Central Alcalde Florencio Suárez, one of the main roads in the municipality, which connects commercial, administrative and residential areas of the urban center.
The action has a budget of 413,697.42 euros for the complete rehabilitation of the pavement in the section between the roundabout on San Blas street and La Calera street, in addition to complementary work to improve horizontal signage, pedestrian accessibility and channeling.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, points out that this work "responds to a neighborhood demand and reinforces our objective of improving mobility and road safety in the urban center and throughout the municipality."
This avenue, which bears the name of the historic mayor Florencio Suárez, is one of the busiest in Tías and has been the subject of various actions in recent years. With this new resurfacing phase, the integral renovation of the entire road will be completed, which has already seen significant improvements in lighting, sidewalks and gardening in previous phases.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Ulpiano Calero, affirms that the rehabilitation of this section will guarantee the uniformity of the entire avenue, providing a homogeneous urban image in accordance with the standards already applied. In this way, "a more orderly, functional and attractive avenue will be achieved for daily use by pedestrians and vehicles," he adds.
According to the project, during the works the necessary civil works will be carried out for the future modernization of low voltage, public lighting and telephony, for which the underground pipes and manholes will be created that will allow future renovation and improvement of services without the need to carry out new disruptive works.
One of the most important interventions will be the installation of an irrigation network and the placement of tree pits for planting trees. In addition, the adaptation of the sidewalks is included to comply with universal accessibility regulations, betting on an inclusive and accessible environment. The City Council expects the works to be carried out this year, once the corresponding administrative procedures have been completed.
