Consumers value its diversity and the effort of the stalls that offer quality and local produce. Visits and sales multiplied this weekend, encouraged by the program of recreational and artistic activities prepared by the City Council.

Festive market days with sales last Saturday and Sunday at the Uga Municipal Market, which took advantage of the dynamizing program of recreational and artistic activities organized by the Yaiza City Council to give a new boost to its offer of zero-kilometer products. Its best value, as confirmed by regular Market customers and sales staff who ratify their commitment to quality and variety, inviting the people of Lanzarote to visit its facilities on Saturdays and Sundays from nine in the morning to two in the afternoon.

Fruits and vegetables from the land, cheeses, meats, fish, artisanal bread, homemade sweets, jams, infusions and handicrafts, among other products, are part of the diversified offer of the Uga Market, a central place that the mayor, Óscar Noda, describes as "welcoming and close, where professionals from the primary sector and artisans offer quality products grown and made with great care so that we can enjoy them in our homes."

Pamela, an Italian citizen residing in Lanzarote and a customer of the southern market, says that "apart from satisfying the purchase of products, I love it because it is a place where people can not only meet each other, but we find local products from Lanzarote." Fernando, another regular visitor, also expresses that "despite being a small place, it offers variety, products that we do not find in the supermarket and that are also close to my home."

Eva Fernández, who runs the family fruit and vegetable business, highlights that "it is a tradition that started with my mother, and we continue to grow seasonal fruits and vegetables to sell them in Uga. They are fresh and quality products and when you taste a tomato or a strawberry, the quality is noticeable."

Lively sales days

The Uga Market experienced two intense days this weekend due to the recreational and artistic program proposed by the City Council throughout Saturday and Sunday morning in the fairground adjacent to the market. The Councilor for the Primary Sector of Yaiza, Silvia Santana, points out that "to the year-round commitment to the Uga Market, we add two great days of dynamization, one coinciding with the Livestock Fair and the one we experienced this weekend on the occasion of the arrival of Christmas. We are willing to collaborate with the initiatives proposed by the vendors themselves. This same week we will reinforce the promotion with social media format videos where those who attend the stalls offer their products in front of the camera and openly express the added value of buying at the Uga Market."

Dozens of people spent the weekend in Uga attending the municipal call full of workshops, children's shows and live music. Families enjoyed and learned about the products offered by the Uga market.
