Following the burning of four waste containers and two vehicles on Vía Mare street, Puerto del Carmen, this Monday, and the attempted burning of other containers on César Manrique street, the Tías City Council requests citizen collaboration to locate the perpetrators and stop acts of urban vandalism in the municipality.

The Local Police of Tías are investigating the authorship of these burnings, which cause serious damage to public spaces and involve significant expenses for everyone in replacements and repairs. In the case of waste containers, the replacement of each one will exceed 1,000 euros.

The cleaning services of the Tías City Council and the firefighters of the Security and Emergency Consortium intervened in this container fire, and agents of the Civil Guard and the Local Police of Tías moved to the scene.

The recent acts of vandalism that occurred recently at the La Asomada-Mácher Center for Early Childhood and Primary Education (CEIP), where several doors were forced, among other damages, and in the Tegoyo picnic area, where the theft of wooden elements was also recorded, are also being investigated.

"It must be remembered that public spaces belong to everyone, that public infrastructures, street furniture, waste containers, benches, streetlights, flowerbeds and collective spaces, among others, are part of our assets as citizens," concludes the city council.
