The Lanzarote Tax Network recorded a total collection in 2021 of 59,233,110 euros, compared to 53,518,350 in 2020, which represents 9.65% more than the previous year. In addition, the Cabildo explains that total assistance to taxpayers increased by 11% compared to the previous year - 176,764 total assistance to taxpayers, compared to 157,402 assistance in 2020.

This Thursday, the Council unanimously approved the report for the year 2021. According to the Cabildo, this document shows, in addition to the increase in assistance and collection, the outstanding rating of the Transparency Commissioner of the Canary Islands to the entity.

“This year, the proposed objective of reducing waiting time has been more than met, and with it the satisfaction of taxpayers,” celebrated the Minister of Finance, Rosa Callero. “The data shows the Cabildo's commitment to improving citizen attention and transparency when providing the information that residents need,” she added.

“As can be seen from the surveys sent daily to taxpayers who have been attended by appointment, nine out of ten taxpayers were attended at the time indicated in their appointment and the attention received was 'Very good' or 'Good' in 97% of those surveyed,” the Minister highlighted.

“The Network continues to work to improve efficiency and, to this end, an ambitious Three-Year Action Plan has been approved, with the setting of specific and measurable objectives that will be linked to the evaluation of the performance of the Organization's workers, regulated in an Instruction that is available on the Organization's Transparency portal,” revealed Callero.

For all these reasons, the Minister thanked and congratulated the “great work carried out by the public service staff and the efforts of all the people involved in achieving great data on attention, transparency and collection.”

"To ensure the necessary economic coverage for the performance of all its tasks, the Tax Network Budget Project for the year 2022 has been approved, which will be part of the General Budgets of the Cabildo and which includes the positions that are subject to Public Employment Offer, also approved by the Governing Council and pending final approval by the Government Council of the Cabildo de Lanzarote,” the Minister concluded.
