Strikes return to the Insular Hospital: "We are fed up and tired of lies"

The workers of the Insular Hospital have resumed this Monday the daily stoppages of 20 minutes in each shift. "We are fed up and tired of listening to lie after lie", they denounce from Intersindical Canaria, which warns that they do not rule out reaching a "total and indefinite" strike if their demands are not met this time either.

The union recalls that last year 2015, the government group of the Cabildo formed by CC and PSOE, already approved to equalize the salaries of these workers, but regrets that this commitment was never carried out. Nor the one they received last July, when they agreed to lift the daily stoppages they were carrying out, "for trusting the commitment acquired by both the Minister of Human Resources and Finance and the Minister of Health of the Cabildo".

At that time, they assure that they were promised that the agreements approved in the Governing Council in 2015 would begin to be implemented this October, but it has not been so either. "They have broken their word again and have deceived the workers again", says Intersindical, which affirms that that is why "they are forced again" to resume the 20-minute stoppages in each shift, "not ruling out the total and indefinite strike if they do not execute the agreements."

In addition, every day they will concentrate at the doors of the center at 12 noon, to make their protest visible, before which they ask for "support" from the citizens, while "apologies for the damages that may be caused by the stoppages."
