The PSOE of Lanzarote has "strongly" condemned the aggression suffered by the president of the Kellys, Myriam Barros, while she was participating in a concentration in Corralejo, at the doors of the Mirador de Lobos hotel.
"They have tried to make them invisible, exploit them, and now they attack them. It is intolerable," declared the island secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, who highlighted "the enormous value of the task undertaken by the Kellys, by denouncing with all the harshness the precariousness and exploitation to which those who work in the tourism sector are subjected, despite the successive occupancy records that are experienced year after year."
For the island secretary of the PSOE, "the time has come to demand that those who do not have a single free bed respect the minimum rights of the people who, with their work, make it possible for their hotels to bill more each year that passes. The time has come to start talking about minimum staff levels that guarantee a manageable workload and to question the outsourcing of services that hides, under that euphemism, even greater precariousness and exploitation."
