The Socialist Party of Haría denounces the "double standard" of the municipal government group, composed of the Canarian Coalition and the Platform of the Municipality of Haría, for buying two fossil fuel vehicles "in the midst of a sustainable revolution."
“There is the aggravating factor with which the purchase of these two vehicles has been executed, because instead of putting it out to tender as is pertinent and required from a legal point of view, they have decided to split a tender that could exceed 30,000 euros in order to award it directly, that is, by hand,” the socialist councilors also denounce.
“The only City Council in the Canary Islands that is still not capable of integrating into the Sustainable Development Goals, in the 2030 Agenda, and in what all official bodies from Europe to the Government of the Canary Islands mark is the City Council of Haría, since it has not been able to have the environmental sensitivity to buy electric vehicles instead of fossil fuel vehicles”, they denounce from the PSOE.
The socialists point out that the trend in recent years of all administrations, except that of Haría, “has been to bet on electric vehicles when renewing their fleet”. “Therefore, the Socialist Party cannot and should not overlook this situation”, they denounce from the political formation.
“While the accidental mayor, Víctor Robayna, boasts in an opinion article about green policies and a sustainable municipality, the reality of his government and his management is the purchase of two fossil fuel vehicles in the midst of a sustainable revolution”, says the socialist spokesperson in the northern municipality, Alfredo Villalba.
For this reason, the socialist group is "perplexed" with the accidental mayor's statements about "transparency and sustainability in his management". “The reality of the municipality is diametrically opposed, opacity in its management and no action in the sustainable development of the municipality”, they point out from the PSOE.
“We will continue working so that through initiatives we lead this government, and therefore, this municipality, down the path of sustainability. Haría deserves no less, since as everyone knows we have always been a green town and very linked to sustainability. We cannot take a step back in this matter”, the northern socialists sentence.
