“We hope that this breach does not imply any sanction that the people of Arrecife have to pay, with how expensive the Carnival bill is turning out to be", says Duque

The PSOE has denounced that the Arrecife City Council did not have the authorization of Costas for part of the Carnival events that were held this past Saturday in the capital. Specifically, the General Directorate "disapproved of the Porteño Carnival and the piñata Saturday in the Ramírez Cerdá Park, as well as the Day Carnival and parade of comparsas and batucadas on the Avenida Marítima."

The Socialist Party in the capital assures that Costas did not authorize these celebrations for "not having submitted the documentation in a timely manner."

The councilor of the Socialist Group, Cristina Duque, has denounced that “Yonathan de León knew since February 5 that the authorization was not available and despite that he held the events putting citizens at risk.”

“These actions demonstrate, in addition to a lack of foresight, a tremendous irresponsibility, being an event with such a large influx of people. Yonatahn de León has to understand that you cannot do what you want and when you want, there are procedures and they have to be carried out in a forward-looking manner”, Duque pointed out.

“We hope that this breach does not imply any sanction to the City Council that the people of Arrecife have to pay, with how expensive the Carnival bill of this government group is already turning out to be. The excesses are going to be expensive for us, but the mayor's ineptitude is going to raise the price. This mayor will already be remembered as the party mayor, but we hope that he will not have to be remembered for any incident”, he concluded.

Likewise, Duque has indicated that the Socialist Group of Arrecife asks that the procedures be followed to the letter in the events that remain to be celebrated: “We hope that they comply with the law and that we have nothing to regret.”
