The Popular Party of Tías will register a motion for the City Council to immediately settle the debts it has with some cultural and musical associations of the municipality since the beginning of this year. And it is that although in the last plenary session a subsidy of 5,000 euros was approved for the El Pavón Musical Group, a few months before the end of the year, most of the associations still do not receive the necessary funds to carry out their activities, which is seriously affecting their operation and the cultural offer of Tías.
The PP considers it "unacceptable that the municipal government has left cultural associations without the resources promised for more than nine months, paralyzing a large part of their activity. Cultural and musical associations are a fundamental pillar in the community life of the municipality, promoting creativity, music and local heritage, so the PP considers it vital that they receive the necessary financial support to continue developing their work."
In this sense, the popular ones have also demanded that the municipal budgets for 2025 include a specific item for subsidies for all cultural associations in Tías, thus guaranteeing stable and fair financing. "The City Council must be aware of the role these associations play in the cultural and social revitalization of the municipality. It is time to move from unfulfilled promises to action," said Francisco Aparicio, leader of the PP of Tías.
Aparicio has insisted on the need for the government team to act with responsibility and commitment: "It cannot be allowed that cultural associations, which contribute so much to the life of our municipality, suffer from the inaction and neglect of the City Council. It is essential that the 2025 budget includes a nominated item to guarantee the continuity of these entities."
With this motion, the Popular Party of Tías hopes that the plenary session of the City Council will act with the speed that the situation demands, and that the outstanding debts will be resolved immediately, while guaranteeing solid financial support for the associations in the coming years.
