The Popular Party has sent a statement to "reject and condemn in the strongest terms, once again, the disqualifications, insults and harassing opinions made by Sigfrid Soria", whose Twitter account was suspended this Thursday after a controversial tweet about Catalonia, gays and AIDS. For the PP, Sigfrid Soria's opinions "have no place within this political formation that has always defended tolerance and respect for all people, regardless of their convictions, beliefs, gender, race or sexual orientation."

"A person who repeatedly and constantly makes such deplorable statements does not represent in any way the values and principles of the Popular Party", says the island secretary of the party, Joel Delgado, who recalls that Soria was relegated years ago from any organic and public position within the Popular Party of Lanzarote, so at this time he only maintains the status of affiliate or grassroots militant.

"The men and women who make up the Popular Party of Lanzarote project unanimously reject this type of radical thinking as it seriously damages the principles in which we believe and for which we fight every day," says Delgado.
