The Popular Party of Yaiza values "very positively" that the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands has included in the Strategic Plan for Educational Infrastructures 2024-2035 the projects "most necessary and demanded" for years by the educational community of the municipality.
The popular representatives highlight the importance of having defined and planned the infrastructure works that will be carried out in a horizon of 12 years, also establishing the specific costs of each project. Without a doubt, this is an important advance for Yaiza, as this formula "guarantees that the funds are available as they are needed and avoids the stoppages that in many cases occur in the execution due to lack of resources", highlights the municipal spokesperson for the PP, Juan Monzón.
Monzón points out that, during the last four years, "Yaiza is the municipality where the school population has grown the most in a generalized way in all stages", and especially in infant and baccalaureate, where the increase reaches 17% and 25%, respectively.
The popular representatives value that the new Minister of Education, Poli Suárez, has taken into account the situation of the educational centers in the south of the island and commits the regional executive to a financing of 20,480,707 euros, which is the execution cost of the four projects: the new IES in Playa Blanca (15,217,597 euros) and the extensions of the CEP of Montaña Roja (4,513,110 euros), the CEIP of Uga (750,000 euros) and the CEIP of Playa Blanca, after whose extension will include the teaching from 0 to 2, thus completing the cycle from 0 to 3.
