The spokesperson for the Popular Party (PP) in the Cabildo of Tenerife, Ángel Llanos, believes that the arrival of seven small boats and two slave ships to the Island in "what we have of 2005" justifies the urgency of installing the Integrated Exterior Surveillance System (SIVE), after it was known this Monday that a new small boat with 37 irregular immigrants has arrived at the coast of Granadilla de Abona.

According to Ángel Llanos "the call effect of the PSOE's ‘papers for everyone' Law has turned the coast of Tenerife into a sieve due to the lack of human and material resources for maritime surveillance, and Tenerife into a priority destination for the mafias that traffic with the lives of human beings with impunity."

The number two of the popular people of Tenerife affirms that "once again, and there are already nine this year, those responsible for our security have not found out about the passage of this boat through the waters of Tenerife until it reached our coast." In his opinion, this is generating "unease among the people of Tenerife who watch in astonishment as the mafias act every day", a fact that he attributes to the socialist government.

Llanos recalls that "the avalanche of irregulars" to Tenerife began at the beginning of 2005, in Arico with the Olomne (about 200 immigrants), and has continued on May 9 (a zodiac in Arico), on June 10 (another zodiac in Arico), on June 14 (new zodiac spotted near the coast of Arico), on August 15 (second slave ship with about 100 immigrants in Los Cristianos), on August 31 (a small boat in Almáciga), on October 5 (another small boat in Playa San Juan) and on October 22 (penultimate small boat in El Médano).
