The deputy of the Popular Party for Lanzarote, Fernando Figuereo, has accused this Wednesday the PSOE of lying about the amendments for the distribution of the extraordinary credit of the Government of the Canary Islands, and of "blindly supporting its partners of the Canarian Coalition", giving "the back to the most needy of the island, voting against three amendments destined to favor vulnerable groups and to improve the health of Lanzarote".

For Figuereo, it is "especially regrettable" that "the socialists want to show off their amendments, which cannot be executed because they refer to actions paralyzed by the bureaucracy of the regional government, such as the Mácher roundabout or the tourism renovation plans, which are not even working, while our proposals are 100% executable this year".

In this regard, he wanted to clarify that the PP "has not voted against the amendments of the government group", as the PSOE has questioned, reproaching him for not supporting the arrival of 3 million more for the island. "We have voted against a bill that dedicates most of the 200 million to cover holes in the Government of the Canary Islands and forgets those who despair on the health waiting lists and does not address the urgency of the hundreds of thousands of Canarians who are at risk of social exclusion," added the deputy.

"One of the most pressing needs"

Specifically, the deputies of the PSOE, and also those of CC, have voted against two amendments to provide 700,000 euros for a specific Shock Plan for the island against waiting lists, "one of the most pressing needs of the people of Lanzarote, which the Government will finally allocate to office supplies", according to the PP.

Likewise, he adds that "with the socialist deputies of Lanzarote at the head, the government partners have voted against the proposal to provide 2,000,000 euros for a Social Emergency Fund for Poverty, destined directly to the most vulnerable groups of the conejera society, through non-governmental organizations, in which Cáritas, Cruz Roja, Banco de Alimentos, the Association of Volunteers in Emergencies and Rescue of Lanzarote (Emerlán), and the Asociación Calor y Café were going to participate".

Figuereo lamented the lack of ethics of the PSOE of Lanzarote, "which does not hesitate to lie in order to obtain an electoral benefit". "The people of Lanzarote are not going to accept the strategy of lies in exchange for votes that the socialists use on the island," added the popular deputy.

"The socialists -he added- continue to sacrifice the general interests of the citizens in order to preserve their position in the Government, and have systematically opposed all the amendments presented by the Popular Group", aimed at improving the efficiency of essential public services and promoting employment and entrepreneurship.

"It is nothing new, since Lanzarote is, by far, one of the islands worst treated in the budgets prepared by the CC ? PSOE pact, with a cut of 70% this last year and a meager 28 million euros for the year 2013", he concluded.
