The Popular Party of Teguise demands the repair of the heliport of the eighth island, in order to be "ready and in optimal conditions to attend to any emergency situation that may occur." The populars point out that this infrastructure, which dates back to 1989, has been the object of "many criticisms given its state of deterioration for years".

For the populars, as they already assure that they demonstrated in the last plenary session of the Cabildo and in the Parliament of the Canary Islands, "it is essential that Lanzarote has a permanent helicopter for emergency transfers as well as adequate and well-equipped platforms for the landing and take-off of the devices and the safety of patients."

“It is not understood that they fix the heliport on time and then years go by without any type of maintenance”, says the PP councilor in Teguise, Nieves Arrocha, and adds that “it is not possible to continue looking the other way in a fragmented territory that requires urgent responses.”

"It is not the first time that the regional executive has neglected the eighth island, since it must be remembered that they put out to tender the health transport contract leaving out, inexplicably, the island of La Graciosa", add the populars.

The councilor of the Popular Party, Nieves Arrocha, describes the treatment of the autonomous government towards the island of La Graciosa as “intolerable”. “We have been in the legislature for three years without them having solved any historical problem of the island, a different thing is when they talk about the capital islands”, she concludes.
