The Teguise City Council has presented a new application that offers detailed information about the five markets in the municipality in four languages: English, German, French and Spanish.
It has a geolocation system and has a push notification service that will send automatic messages to mobiles and tablets about the special activities that are organized in the markets: folk performances, exhibitions, etc.
It is interactive; those who have the APP can make suggestions, upload reviews and photographs. The Department of Commerce of the Teguise City Council, began to develop the initiative jointly with the company Social Val last October for the design of this technological tool that has had a cost of just over 2900 euros and whose annual maintenance will be around 1800 euros.
For the Councilor for Commerce, Lourdes Cabrera, it is "a small investment that will have an invaluable advertising impact." On the other hand, she also highlighted "the importance of adapting the market network to new technologies since these allow that through small interventions we have a greater impact and thus the sellers will obtain greater benefits; that is one of the objectives that we have set ourselves."
The Councilor for Tourism, Antonio Callero, assured that this APP "represents a great advance in the tourist promotion of the municipality" and added that "it will be decisive to publicize the work of the market vendors."
This tool can be downloaded from mobiles and tablets with Android and iOS systems completely free of charge. On the other hand, in the meeting with the media, the new corporate image, linked to this APP, of the Teguise market network was also announced.
