The members of the Canarian Coalition in San Bartolomé are divided over the person they will propose as a candidate for mayor of the municipality. In the Local Political Council held last night, the differences were shown between those who support the current mayor, Miguel Martín, who has held this position for several legislatures; or Juan Antonio de la Hoz, currently Councilor for Culture and who would represent a renewal.
For the moment, and as Juan Antonio de la Hoz explained, no decision has yet been taken in this regard. Thus, it will be the next meeting of the Local Political Council, which will take place on November 30, when the proposal for the candidacy will be decided. "We hope to reach a consensus by then or otherwise it would have to be voted on," explained the Culture Councilor.
This decision would not be final either, since it will be the Island Council that ultimately decides the candidates. However, it is logical that this body respects the decisions of the local councils.
