The Governing Council of the Island Council of Lanzarote approved this Thursday the joint call for public employment positions corresponding to the years 2018 and 2019, which total 37 jobs, one of them for internal promotion. "It is the largest public employment call made by the Cabildo in more than a decade," they emphasize from the government group, which has held an extraordinary and urgent meeting to launch this process.
"The best resource of this Cabildo is its workers, but it is a scarce resource, and since we now have the opportunity to offer places, we must take advantage of them, so that this institution can function more efficiently serving the citizens of Lanzarote," declared the president, María Dolores Corujo. Similarly, Corujo recalled that it is possible to offer this "important" number of places because the Cabildo left vacant the positions that were incorporated into the Canarian Health Service when the Insular Hospital was transferred to the regional administration.
For her part, the Minister of Human Resources, Rosa Callero, stressed that this call will be processed "as quickly as possible", because the legislation only allows a few places to be called per year and for a limited period of time. "Given that nothing was called in 2018, it was important to make this joint call because the clock has already started," she explained. Callero also wanted to remember that this call is "very necessary to cover areas that had been without personnel replacement for too long".
