Last Monday, the Tías City Council took another step towards the consolidation of the municipal swimming pool. The bidding companies have already submitted their bids for the construction of the building that will house one of the "most modern sports facilities in the Canary Islands", according to reports from the Canarian Coalition. Now, all that remains is for the municipal technicians to study which is the most interesting budget for the construction and development of the facilities.

The CC councillor in the government group, Jessica Suárez, points out that "this was one of the determining factors in sealing the pact in the southern municipality" and that "the speed with which both CC and PSOE are developing the project demonstrates the seriousness of a pact made by and for the residents". In 2002, Juan Cruz, who was then a councillor for the Canarian Coalition, presented a motion requesting its construction and, since then, it has been a "battle horse" for the party, says Jéssica Suárez, first deputy mayor of Tías and spokesperson for the CC in the municipality.

Jessica Suárez assures forcefully that "this pact was finalised the day the PSOE voted in favour of the municipal swimming pool, a CC motion presented in 2002, and included in our electoral programme". Suárez also recalls that a work of this magnitude "is not only useful for sports, but also covers countless therapeutic purposes". "We are working on facilities for all ages and profiles, which will serve to revitalise the centre involving the elderly, pregnant women and babies, coordinating the tasks from the Department of Social Welfare and Family", she adds.

CC encourages the government group to continue working "for the residents", as this work represents "an important investment, generating employment" "Now more than ever we do not understand how certain politicians, who claim to work for the people, could have confronted each other, for political reasons, when it is a benefit for the citizens", they conclude.
