The comptroller of the Arrecife City Council, Elena Gómez, has left the capital Consistory after obtaining a position in Tías, as confirmed to La Voz by the institution chaired by Eva de Anta. Gómez could ask for an extension and continue in the Arrecife City Council, but the mayor has denied it because there is a national qualified person with a category according to the Consistory who has requested to join it.
Elena Gómez arrived at the Arrecife City Council in August of last year, replacing Carlos Sáenz, who was dismissed after being convicted in the Proselan piece of the Unión case to 4 and a half years in prison for continued crimes of embezzlement and prevarication and 8 years and one day of disqualification.
As explained by the City Council, Gómez was in the capital Consistory "accidentally, because the position she has is not in accordance with the category of the City Council" and, now, "in the transfer competition processed by the Civil Service, she has been awarded the Tías City Council, which does fit her category".
A Consistory worker will replace her for the moment
The official had three days to join or request an extension of the function she was performing in the City Council, but the mayor denied it because "she already had contact with a national qualified person of the first category, which corresponds to the category of the City Council due to its population, who has requested to join" the Consistory, according to the same. Thus, this Thursday was Elena Gómez's last day in the Arrecife City Council.
Now, while the new comptroller arrives, a process that the Consistory hopes "will not take long", it will be the worker who usually replaced Elena Gómez when she was away who will perform the tasks of Intervention.
