Despite the delays in the renovation works of the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz in Arrecife, which has been closed since November 2005, the Councilor for Culture in the Arrecife City Council, María Dolores Rodríguez, was confident that it will be in February or March next year when the center can finally open its doors.
In addition, Rodríguez reported that she had already received from the Ministry of Culture the bidding project to carry out the restoration of the murals of César Manrique, found inside the center in 2007.
"The Ministry will put it out to tender presumably in December or January and estimates that the works will take three months," said the municipal councilor in charge of sending the project to the Heritage of the Cabildo and the Autonomous Community, as well as to the César Manrique Foundation "so that all the necessary steps are taken," said Rodríguez.
The Ministry of Culture will finance the restoration works of the murals with 31,000 euros and will manage them.
