The Canarian Workers' Union Front in Lanzarote ([FSOC->http://www.sindicatoobrerocanario.org/]) has stated in a statement its "enormous regret for the people who died aboard the Cayuco that arrived in Arguineguín on Wednesday morning", and in turn has also expressed "solidarity with the families of these people who arrived lifeless on the Canarian coasts".

The Canarian Workers' Union Front denounces the ineffectiveness of Frontex and Sive, which, given their installation, forces the extension of the journey and the time of the voyage of the cayucos to the Canary Islands.

"With these measures, the tremendous human drama that we are witnessing in the Canary Islands in the face of the phenomenon of immigration has been exacerbated", they declare from the union collective.

"From the FSOC Lanzarote, we denounce that European and Spanish immigration policies violate human rights and these deaths are their most blatant consequence. Therefore, we call on citizens not to be indifferent to this injustice and to demand responsibility from their rulers, who allow this situation", the union members say in their statement.

"The FSOC Lanzarote, frontally rejects the pretensions of the government of the Spanish State to use the countries of North Africa as gendarmes of Europe, which, among other things, results in even greater invisibility of deaths and violations of human rights", declare from the union group, where they propose that "to stop the death of these people", the government should be required to launch "true policies of international cooperation and co-development, which effectively help to reduce the gap between the rich North and the poor South, especially with the African continent with which there is the greatest economic gap in the world".
