The Arrecife City Council plenary agreed that the preparation of a new General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU) should be put out to tender, as requested by the opposition. Thus, the Cotmac will be asked to review and analyze the plan and the City Council will be obliged to hire a new team of drafters to work on the plan.
This urgent motion, which was presented by the PP at around 1.30 am, was supported by the PIL, CC and PNL, who managed to get the proposal through.
Thus, the opposition will urge the PSOE to draft the administrative specifications to tender the preparation of a new General Plan for Arrecife. The socialists and Alternativa Ciudadana rejected the initiative, while the PP said that the drafting of this plan has been delayed "too long".
On the other hand, Alternativa Ciudadana also managed to get one of its motions approved, urging the City Council to address the Cotmac to analyze the situation of the basic adaptation of the city's planning.
