The Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture has been showing since last week
its original facade, after being hidden behind fences for
almost three years, when the rehabilitation works of this
historic building, in February 2007. The works are expected to be fully completed in a few months and turn this center into an "eminently cultural" space, once the doors of this 19th century house are finally opened to the public.
The rehabilitation of the Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture began in
February 2007, with works that should recover this building in a
term of 18 months. However, the discovery of the murals of the
artist César Manrique, prolonged some works that had an
investment of 870,000 euros from the European Regional Development Fund
(Feder).
The Agustín de la Hoz House of Culture is a multipurpose and
multidisciplinary center that will manage a program of activities
cultural and will host diverse initiatives. The objective of the center
is to provide the city with a space open to activity
cultural in which knowledge is facilitated and the
exchange between artists, intellectuals, students and the public in
general. A welcome point for all those who are interested in
art, music and letters.
