The Association of Autonomous Workers of Auto Tourism of Lanzarote presented this Wednesday, on Erizo street in Playa Blanca, its new offices in this tourist town. The facilities, which have been provided by the City Council, have been renovated and adapted to new technologies.

Likewise, the new online taxi booking website was presented, which is already in the testing phase and will soon be "one hundred percent" operational, under the domain "taxitourlanzarote.com". This page is designed so that tourists and residents can book a taxi and even make the payment through it. For this, there is a payment gateway that includes compatibility with the main credit cards in Europe.

These measures will be complemented by the future taxi headquarters in Costa Teguise, which will also be provided by the Teguise City Council.

From the Association of Autonomous Workers of Auto Tourism of Lanzarote they assure that they have not stopped working "to achieve the best taxi service in the Canary Islands". Initially, the new offices were inaugurated in Tías and later the Auriga system was installed to centralize the telephone reservation service. Later, the municipalities of Tías, Yaiza, Teguise, Haría, Tinajo and San Bartolomé have been added. Currently, the Playa Blanca offices are being put into operation and, shortly, the Costa Teguise offices will be launched.

"This is achieved with the humble work of all taxi drivers, and with the collaboration of our authorities. In that sense, I thank José Juan Cruz in Tías, Leonardo Rodríguez and Ángel Domínguez, in Yaiza, and Oswaldo Betancort, in Teguise, for the support and understanding they are having with the taxi sector in their municipalities," said its president, Leocadio Martín.
